CeBIT 2016 CeBIT 2016

The latest strategic advancements in digital health, designed to improve service delivery and health outcomes in Australia, will be one of a number of key discussions at CeBIT Australia to be held in Sydney in May.

The CeBIT focus comes as an Austrade report says Australia’s digital health industry is set to reach a market value of $2.21 billion by 2020, an expected annual growth of 12.3%.

CeBIT takes place at the International Convention Centre Sydney, between 23 to 25 May and the CeBIT Digital Health conference will take place on 25 May.

Chris Harwood, platforms and operations at Healthdirect Australia, says the company recognises CeBIT Australia as an essential forum to discuss the future of technology in delivering healthcare services.

“As healthcare is a major growth industry in Australia’s economy, CeBIT Australia is a pivotal forum for health professionals to learn about the digital advancements and emerging innovations that will transform health services and the current models of care delivery to better meet patient needs.”

Over 25 international and local experts will explore health topics, from the latest insights into holistic and integrated approaches in digital health, to eRecords and big data, artificial intelligence and robotic surgery.

And, also on the agenda is Christian Guttmann, associate professor, School of Science and Engineering, UNSW and research fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, who will share insights into the advancements of artificial intelligence, and how innovations in machine learning and predictive analytics can improve healthcare systems.

Robotic surgery in Australia will be addressed by Dr Daniel Moon, Urologist, Australian Urology Associates and director of Robotic Surgery at Epworth Healthcare.
